The experience of bliss and renewal.

Gift of Dhamma excels all other gifts - Buddha.

Every emotion or reaction leaves a mark on your body called Sankara. These memories of hurt or happiness in the body outlasts its presence in the mind. Vipassana meditation is possibly the only known way to eradicate memories out of the body. It works at a molecular level. This method developed by Buddha, himself, is very scientific, universal, and has nothing to do with religion. The main idea is to develop equanimity to all sensations to eradicate misery.

I will not talk more about the technique. It is best left to a trained teacher. I highly recommend everyone to try it out though. It is a mind blowing experience. It brought me immense peace and joy.

A Vipassana course lasts a minimum of ten days. I chose Kerala to do my course. It was an excellent choice. Though Kerala is proud of its traditions, Kerala is open minded to try anything that promises to be beneficial. Loving and beautiful Kerala was added bonus on this spiritual journey of a lifetime.

Vipassana Center at Cheriyanadu, Kerala.

The Dhamma Khetana center at Cheriyanadu is scenic. Any time you are not meditating, nature comes to calm your mind.

Scenic Cheriyanadu

We stayed back after the course ended for an afternoon to walk around the village of Cheriyanadu. It was simply heaven. Do not miss the opportunity to explore Cheriyanadu if you happen to visit this center. And also try some fresh fish recipes.

View from the train to Kerala

Kerala is breathtakingly beautiful. Frame by frame the train journey was absolutely stunning with paddy farms and coconut trees. Wish one could really capture that journey.

Train food

I took the early morning Parshuram express train from Mangalore to Chengannur. All my favorite food was made available at regular intervals. Great start to my spiritual journey.
